What’s your view on Sandile Mantsoe’s sentencing …

JOHANNESBURG NORTH – With the 32-year sentence being dished out to Sandile Mantsoe, who murdered his girlfriend Karabo Mokoena, the public had various views on the sentencing.

Karabo Mokoena’s murderer, Sandile Mantsoe, has been sentenced to 32 years in prison. Do you think this sentence was appropriate?

MARCUS KHAMBULE: Today justice was served. The proverbial long arm of the law proved it cannot be escaped; it caught up with Sandile. However, it’s small recompense for Karabo’s family.
TT FERGUSON: Fifty-five years to life would have been more appropriate for him, and while in prison, an everyday reminder of what he did would suit him.
ZAMANI MKHIZE: Justice was served, however, the same amount of justice must apply to similar offenders with celebrity status; the law must be fair on everyone.
MELLISSA NHLAPHO: The court’s decision wasn’t fair; 32 years is not long enough. The guy deserves life imprisonment because he might still come out on parole.
NICOLE THOMPSON: Thirty-two years is appropriate for him and he shouldn’t be given all the prison privileges that taxpayers’ money has paid for. He needs to feel the same amount of pain the victim felt.
