What do you think of Zuma’s resignation and Ramaphosa’s presidency?

VOX POPS: We asked the public for their opinions on Jacob Zuma's resignation and their thoughs on South Africa's newest president.

Former President Jacob Zuma resigned during a late-night address at the Union Buildings and Cyril Ramaposa was elected president the following daty. We asked the public to give us their thoughts on Zuma’s resignation and whether or not they think Ramaphosa will be a good president. Here’s what they had to say:

STACEY DAMOZE: I haven’t really paid attention to it but I think only good things can come of it. I would like to be optimistic about the future but I’m not sure.
JEMAINE SUMAR: I don’t really pay attention to politics so I don’t really care about Jacob Zuma’s resignation. I do think Cyril Ramaphosa will make a good president though.
NALEDI NHLAPO: It’s about time! I’m very happy that he has resigned. With Cyril Ramaphosa I think we need time to see if he can be better.
JAMES HADEBE: Honestly, I’m a bit disappointed. I know there are some dark forces from inside, I know he wasn’t working alone so how can one person be to blame? Cyril, could be a good president.
