This annual event, which has seen remarkable growth in participation, continues to empower and inspire women across the region.

Since its relocation in 2017 from Wanderers Stadium to Marks Park Sports Club in Emmarentia, the Jozi SPAR Women’s Challenge has accommodated an increasing number of entries and thousands of enthusiastic spectators.

The race is a highlight of the SPAR Grand Prix series, the only competition in South African road running. Female runners have the opportunity to earn points across six 10km races, competing for cash prizes and other rewards.

On race day, participants will gather at two starting points:

5km race: Starting at Umgeni Road, corner of Hill Road

10km race: Starting at Buffalo Road, corner of Hill Road. To ensure the safety of the runners and to facilitate the smooth running of the event, several temporary road closures will be implemented from 5:00 to 11:00 on race day.

The closures are designed to prevent participant parking that could obstruct the running route and to minimise inconvenience to residents.
