With the launch of the James and Ethel Gray Park padel courts, the Gazette asked residents why it was important to have sports facilities in a public space.

Bibi Mbangula: We cannot live by work alone and such safe sporting facilities are hard to come by. Therefore, this offers inclusivity and access to good sporting facilities.
Cealan Malouw: When you have a group of positive people who are like-minded, such a facility can bring about a lot of growth and job creation.
Nadeem Abrahams: A sporting facility plays a pivotal role in the well-being of not just an individual but the community as a whole.
Rob Laing: It brings the community together and allows the community and even people outside the community to get to understand each other in a sporting environment.
