Parents and guardians braved the cold while they cheered on their children on the soccer field at Highlands Park in Linksfield on July 30.
Highlands Park U11 won 4–3 against Warriors football club.
Highlands junior coordinator Debbie IIouze said, “Today was cup matches. If teams get knocked out they do not advance to the next round but we do have league matches every Sunday.”
Highlands Park U11 coach Marco Caberlira noted that his team had battled in the first half of the game due to the boys having just come back from holidays. “Nonetheless, there was a good effort during a cold day. I am happy with the boys’ performance and we will push into the next games.”
The Warriors manager Jason Valkin said he was impressed that his U11 team played a super league team and was happy about the overall performance.
