The roads in Melrose give residents and motorists no joy
JRA spokesperson has said some of the issues with the roads are reinstatements and would be attended to.
A Melrose resident said he has been contacting the Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA) to have the roads in the suburb rehabilitated for the past six months. Kevin Shames, however, said he has had no success in this endeavour.
After seeing the images, JRA spokesperson Bertha Scheepers said some of the issues looked like Joburg Water excavations that require reinstatement. “We will follow up and respond on each one, however could the resident please provide reference numbers where they reported each issue to JRA so that we can trace the process and escalations.”
She added that once reference numbers were provided, they would investigate each issue and revert along with repair timeframes.
Various residents shared photos of damaged roads as shown.
