VOX POP: Residents don’t feel safe training in open spaces

Suvarn Singh: I do run in the open spaces within the area.
Suvarn Singh: I do run in the open spaces within the area. I live in an area that is boomed off so I do feel safe. I wouldn’t feel safe training in public spaces.

Boipelo Lenkwane: As a woman in SA, I don’t feel safe jogging or training in open spaces. Even leaving home to go to the gym early in the morning does not feel safe.

Kimera Moodley: I never feel comfortable training in the parks. It’s much safer to do it in places with security personnel. I often train in protected spaces that have less risk.

Tebogo Mabitsela: I live in a safe and protected area so I train within the enclosed parks. I feel safe there although sometimes I do train on the road.
Roxanne Solomon
Roxanne Solomon: I feel safer training in a place where there is a big group of people. I rarely train in the park because it doesn’t feel safe at all.
