Ward 72 councilor reflects on 2022 community highlights

Ward 72 councilor looks forward to working with the community in 2023.

Ward 72 councillor, Daniel Schay highlights the positives achieved in his ward this year.

Schay said the ward successfully elected a brilliant and capable ward committee who have hit the ground running and would add value to the community for the next four years.

“The water pipe issues that plagued Sandringham and Glenhazel twelve months ago are practically a thing of the past and we can finally celebrate having new and functional water infrastructure in these suburbs. City initiatives combined with community initiatives like the CAP green teams have made a massive improvement in how the ward looks and feels.”

The ward 72 councillor added that the local CPFs made an impact on the way SAPS functions in the ward and there was work underway to improve the way victims of gender-based violence are treated when they visited the stations in the area.

Schay noted that there were a few things he wanted the community to improve on.

“Next year I hope to be able to improve the enforcement of our construction and building use by-laws, as well as inviting the community to assist the improving the state and therefore utilisation of our parks.”

He concluded and said it has been an absolute joy and honour to serve the community and looks forward to continuing the privilege into 2023.
