Parkview SAPS prepare to bid farewell to long career

Captain Oliphant's career decision was based on serving the community and ensuring justice was served.

Parkview SAPS Captain, Constance Oliphant prepares to retire after 37 years of service.

Oliphant said her passion helped her maintain longevity in her career.

“Initially I wanted to be a lawyer, but that changed after my brother was murdered because there was no justice for him. I wanted to help families who were in similar situations receive the justice they deserve. The 37 years I spent serving have felt like I am at the right place, and I am where I am meant to be.”

Oliphant said being a police officer is a calling. It has to be something someone wanted to do for themselves and the community at large.
