Parkview police congratulates newly promoted officers

All the promoted officers was an ongoing process, and that the station's focus was based on the “Batho Pele” principle where community members will be treated in a dignified manner.

Parkview Police Station commander Colonel Devan Govender celebrates newly promoted officers.

Govender said on November 16 that the promoted officers would assist the station in offering quality service to the community.

“Parkview police congratulates three sergeants, eight warrant officers, three captains and bids farewell to two officers. The overall aim for the officers is to ensure a professional service is rendered to the community.”

The station commander added that four warrant officers will be deployed at the client service centre to mentor all the junior members.

Newly redeployed Captain Clinton Herandien said he couldn’t have joined Parkview police at a better time. “I worked at Mondeor SAPS for the past six years which was about community interaction. In terms of being redeployed here I am excited; I have always wanted to be community based in my job and provide professional services which is what is lacking in most police stations.”

Govender explained that training and development of all the promoted officers was an ongoing process, and that the station’s focus was based on the “Batho Pele” principle where community members will be treated in a dignified manner.

Newly redeployed Neeltjies Bester said her experience at Sophiatown police prepared her for her future endeavours. “I worked at Sophiatown for seven years and I moved to different departments within the station. I am happy with my redeployment at Parkview, I believe the experience I have acquired over the years will help me in my new journey as I have learned from educated people.”
