Join the Slut Walk this Saturday to raise awareness on rape

A number of things will be donated including care packages for children and adults.

With the aim to raise awareness of rape, this year’s edition of the Slut Walk will be held at the Pirates Club on 25 Braeside Road in Greenside on Saturday, October 1 from 09:30 to 15:00.

A survivor support organisation for dogs and puppies, Happy Yappers will also be a part of the 5-kilometre walk.

“We are all survivors we should support each other…This is a day when survivors can get together in a safe place and express themselves. They get to share their stories and healing journeys,” said the organisers of the walk in a press statement.

A number of things will be donated including care packages for children and adults.

These include, “Handbags, backpacks, underwear for children and adults, clothes for children and adults, facecloths, sanitary towels, soap, tissues, body lotion, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, small gifts, teddy bear and colouring in books for the children’s care kits.”

You can buy the following items prior to the walk:

  • T-shirts R150 each
  • Hats R100 each
  • key rings R50 each
  • Bracelets R30 each

Those who wish to donate can drop off the items at 297 Thrush Avenue in Boskruin.

The Hulk security team will be present at the Walk to ensure everyone’s safety.
