More blackouts for South African as the country moves to Stage 6

Stage 6 load-shedding was confirmed and this means South Africans will face at least six hours of darkness per day.

As of June 28, Eskom announced that the country would be moving to Stage 6 load-shedding.

This could damage the South African economy, affect jobs and investments, and cause huge inconvenience to consumers.

The Sandton Chroncle took to the streets to ask people what they feel about the newly-imposed stage.

SIPHESIHLE NDIMA: Being a student and having so many hours without electricity is too much… we will fail because when the stage is implemented, the network goes, and this leaves us with no alternative ways of studying.
MBUSO TENZA: Stage 6 will affect me mostly when I get home, with it starting at 4:00 and ending at midnight. I have work to do at home and I can’t work without electricity and that is how Stage 6 mostly affects me.
NTANDO MAWENI: I suppose I feel the same way as most people do about load-shedding, it is frustrating and most people complain about how it is on and off and it affects appliances. It hurts our daily lives.
KOKETSO KHUMALO: As a Grade 11 learner, Eskom has been a negative factor in my studies and it has put a strain on me and my studying schedule. Stage 6 has just messed up my cross-night studying routine.
PALESA MANELI: There have been complaints, and at this point, alternatives would be more appropriate. Eskom, on the other hand, is destroying my business.
