Thea aims to make a living through karate

Karate teaches one self defence and builds confidence and coordination says Thea

Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg learner Thea Langenhorst is gearing up to represent South Africa in the Karate World Youth Training Camp and World Youth League Championships in Croatia from June 25 till July 3.

Falling in love with the sport at the age of six, Thea is driven to achieve perfection in her karate techniques. She has been making South Africa proud since 2017, representing the country as a Protea.

She appeals to the public for sponsorships and donations for her to be able to participate in the upcoming Karate Commonwealth Championships in Birmingham, England.

“It is such an honour to be even selected for these internationally ranked events. “I have been training every day and working very hard to achieve my dream of maybe making it to the Olympics someday.”

Sensei Roberta Biagioni, Thea’s coach said he was proud of her and her self-motivation to attend all her regular training classes as well as her elite squad training in her preparation for all the tournaments. “I am honoured to have guided her in all her training throughout her achievements,” Biagioni said.
