Step up as a proudly South African ambassador

MELROSE – Melrose fimmaker Firdoze Bulbulia encourages residents to nominate their local heroes for Brand SA's Play Your Part Awards.

Have you or someone you know done something incredible to promote proudly South African sentiments in your community?

Entries are open for Brand SA’s Play Your Part ambassador campaign. Residents have been called to step up to the plate and nominate their community activists and heroes for their role in promoting national pride in their respective communities.
Play Your Part is aimed at encouraging all South Africans to become active citizens, acknowledging that it is through hearing, seeing and experiencing one another’s stories that people are encouraged to become active citizens and to do their part in rebuilding the nation.

Melrose resident and Play Your Part judge Firdoze Bulbulia explained she had been intrigued and encouraged to see how many people and companies had stepped up to the plate over the past year and a half to help to feed others, support others, and share a message of hope for others, and for the nation as a whole.

A spokesperson for Brandfusion, Brand South Africa’s agency, Matthew Jones explained, “Judging is a rigorous process. Each entry is scored in a number of categories, including sustainability, impact and relevance to category. Each entry is researched in a pre-selection process before a shortlist is provided to judges. These scores are then tallied, and then there is a judges meeting to debate the Top 3.”

He said that entrants had one more week to enter the Nation Pride category, which is focused on individuals or organisations which have evoked national pride through their actions.

Visit brandsouthafrica.com to fill in the entry form. If you’re nominating a local hero, include your contact details in the submission.
