Norwood police continue to keep precinct safe with operation okae molao

NORWOOD – Police arrest 11 suspects during Okae Molao operation

Suspects were arrested for various offences during a joint Okae Molao operation as police strive to keep streets within the Norwood precinct safe.

The operation was conducted by Norwood police and Johannesburg SAPS district stations on July 10.

During the operation 11 suspects were arrested. Four suspects were arrested for failure to comply with the curfew stipulated by the Disaster Management Act as part of the Covid-19 restrictions.

Another seven suspects were arrested for common assault and for assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Station Commander Colonel Phetole Mahasha said, “We welcome the arrests and we will continue to encourage our members for a job well done.”
