DSJ buys benches for outdoor classroom

PARKTOWN – The school purchased eight eight-seater benches which will be used to create an outdoor classroom.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg (DSJ), based in Parktown, raised R30 000 through their recent Bewegungs Challenge weekend (virtual run), allowing the school to purchase outdoor benches.

The school missed out on hosting their annual Schulbasar this year, but were still able to celebrate the occasion.

The school first ran a food drive for Guild Cottage and then hosted the Bewegungs Challenge, where all funds would be used to purchase new outdoor furniture. The furniture, which includes eight eight-seater benches, will be used to create an outdoor classroom.

Marketing manager at DSJ Savo Ceprnich said, “We are really fortunate to have such an engaging and generous community at the DSJ – their overwhelming support for both the food drive and virtual run was truly special.”
