An anti-bullying campaign held at Rosebank Primary School on the first week of June culminated in a Superhero Day.
The learners attended school on the final day of the campaign dressed as superheroes. Teacher Isabeau Loubser said, “The whole campaign is to teach the children not to be a bully but a superhero. We sold kindness cards that the children could write to their friends to promote friendship instead of bullying as an added initiative.”
She added that the learners could also buy a bar of chocolate to go with the card.
Rosebank Primary School principal Leigh Shaw-Taylor said they combined the campaign with Child Protection Week, “We spent the whole week trying to show children to be kind, not only to themselves and their friends, teachers and parents but also to animals. This is because anti-bullying encompasses every living thing.”
The principal added that the Rosebank Primary School applications for grades 2 to 7 for 2022 are now open and enquiries can be sent to roseps@rosebankprimary.co.za
