Police offer a reward for information leading to the arrests of those involved in the business robbery at the State Capture Commission offices.
Parkview police are pleading with members of the public who might have information on the incident which took place on 18 April.
According to the spokesperson of the station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, the office of the provincial commissioner in Gauteng has put out a cash reward for information relating to the robbery.
The statement read, “Police in Gauteng are appealing for assistance from the public, and are offering a cash reward for information that could lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of suspects believed to be responsible for the business robbery at the offices of the State Capture Commission of Inquiry at the Hillside Building in Parktown.”
The suspects reportedly made off with a computer and two monitors as they escaped.
According to the police, an investigating team has already gathered evidence that indicates that at least three suspects were involved in the robbery. Police have also been able to extract clear images of two of the three suspects from security camera footage.
“The positive identification of these suspects is key to the investigation in reference, hence the cash reward that is on offer to any individual who can give information that will lead to the arrest and successful prosecution of the suspects.”
Preliminary investigations discovered that the suspects were armed at the time of the business robbery and can therefore be considered armed and dangerous. “Anyone who is able to identify and subsequently spot the suspects is urged not to confront the suspects as they could be armed and dangerous, but to rather contact the investigating officer.”
Alternatively, persons with information may also call the SAPS Crime Stop number 08600 10111.
