Observatory’s Uitkoms Home for Girls in need of donations

OBSERVATORY – The home's Grade 12 learners are busy with online learning at home but expenses have not otherwise changed for Uitkoms during the lockdown.

Observatory’s Uitkoms Home for Girls has asked the public for donations.

The home’s Grade 12 learners are busy with online learning at home but expenses have not otherwise changed for Uitkoms during the lockdown. In fact, having all the girls at the home every day for the whole day means that more groceries, electricity, and data are used.

Uitkoms has asked for cleaning materials and soap bars, which are on its needs calendar for April and May, and also:

  • Chicken
  • Beef
  • Rice
  • Baked beans
  • Tinned fish
  • Rama or any spread
  • Spaghetti or macaronin
  • Powdered soup packs
  • Cooking oil
  • Snacks such as popcorn or potato chips
  • Sanitiser
  • Toilet paper
  • Dishwashing liquid
  • Washing powder

The home thanked everyone who has supported them and said they appreciate every donated item.

Items can be delivered to 1140 St George’s Road, Observatory, any time between 8am and 4pm.
