ROSEBANK IN PICS: One month in lockdown
ROSEBANK – After a month in lockdown residents have remained behind closed doors.
An eerily silence surrounds Rosebank as we conclude just over one month under lockdown.
The national lockdown, initially expected to end on 16 April, was extended by President Cyril Ramaphosa on 9 April in an effort to better control the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Rosebank and its surrounding residents have remained behind closed doors leaving the roads bear and the atmosphere calm.
Oxford Road, Jan Smuts Avenue and Bompas Road, in particular, remained silent, quite the contrast from the constant car idling and horn honking.

The sounds of music and people taking were nowhere in sight as the area surrounding the Rosebank Gautrain Station and The Zone at Rosebank resembled that of a ghost town.
A similar atmosphere could be felt from Rosebank through to Saxonwold and Parktown on Jan Smuts Avenue.
It is good to see that there are only a handful of cars on the road from Rosebank to Parktown

With the transitioning from Level 5 to Level 4 on 1 May later this week, residents are encouraged to remain at bay, stay in their homes and keep the streets empty.
