Online guitar lessons with Amanda

ILLOVO – One resident helps others while also helping herself by teaching guitar and participating in an online marathon during the lockdown.

Illovo resident Amanda Blankfield-Koseff shared what she gets up to during lockdown.

She said she usually teaches guitar part-time so, “I moved my learners online when we got into lockdown. I am happy for more learners to join online too. The lessons are half an hour once a week. I have been using Zoom and FaceTime mostly.”

Blankfield-Koseff also shared that she is part of Mzansi Lockdown Marathon Challenge. “This is a challenge where if you run 2kms indoors per day over 21 days of lockdown, you can say you’ve run a marathon (42km) at the end.”

Residents interested in the online running challenge were allowed to sign up for free and members who want a T-shirt and/or medal can pay for those with proceeds going to the Solidarity Fund to assist those in need. Participants would need to take screenshots of the device that recorded the distance and email as proof.
