Covid-19: Joburg taxi rank gets a deep clean
The City of Joburg sent out a team to clean and sanitise Noord Taxi Rank in Johannesburg.
With public transport operating at specific times during the lockdown, taxi ranks and bus stations have been rather quiet and empty and this has given municipalities such as the City of Joburg an opportunity to deep clean public spaces.
Joburg Mayor Geoff Makhubo shared a tweet of before and after pictures of MTN taxi rank in Johannesburg as they sent out a team to clean up and sanitise the rank during the lockdown on 28 and 29 March.

Twitter users were wowed by the clean-up and hoped that this continues, as it should be a norm even after the lockdown, suggesting that people should be fined or arrested for littering.
Woooow I wish this place can remain this clean forever

Excellent please add chairs , bins and paint it.
Post corona people need to be fined/arrested for litter.— Zamayirha (@UZamayirha) March 29, 2020
Can this continue after lock down? Like every night when the ranks are empty. Police officers or JMPD to be there for protection of the people who will be working.
