Two suspects arrested for suspected stolen ATM cards

JOBURG CBD – The two suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.


The Johannesburg Central Police arrested two suspects aged between 37 and 40 for suspected stolen ATM cards on the corner of Bree and Small streets in Joburg Central on 20 February at about 1pm.

Spokesperson for the central police Captain Xoli Mbele said the police were on their routine crime prevention duties when they noticed two suspicious men wandering around an ATM machine.

He said, “When they saw the police they tried to run away but were cornered. They recovered fifteen different bank cards and an unlicensed firearm. ”

An investigation is underway and the suspects will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court.

Johannesburg Central Station Commander Brigadier Perumal commended the officer’s quick reaction in arresting the suspects.
