Pizza delivery gone wrong

JOHANNESBURG – Suspects arrested after hijacking a pizza delivery motorcycle driver.

Johannesburg police arrested two suspects, aged 23 and 31, following a pizza delivery motorcycle hijacking on 18 August in the CBD.

The police recovered the motorcycle, empty pizza boxes and a firearm which was confirmed as a toy gun. “The driver for Debonairs Pizza was on his way to make deliveries when he was approached by the two suspects at the traffic lights on the corner of Mooi and Fox streets,” Mbele explained. “One of them pointed a gun at him which we later found to be a toy gun. They then drove off.”

Mbele said these kinds of incidents did not happen often in the area. “The suspects will either appear in the Johannesburg Magistrates’ Court, either today or tomorrow.”
