Four behind bars for serious crimes

JOHANNESBURG – Suspects are expected in court soon.


Four suspects remain behind bars after their arrest by the Johannesburg Flying Squad during their routine patrols in various part of Johannesburg.

The arrests were committed between 12 and 15 April according to the unit’s spokesperson, Sergeant Desmond Subramoney. “The arrested suspects were in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as the two stolen vehicles.”

“The recovered vehicles are a Ford Ranger bakkie and a VW Golf. The suspects were immediately arrested and are currently in police custody facing serious charges.”

Subramoney encouraged the public to work with the police in their efforts to fight crime in Johannesburg and to report crime and any suspicious persons and activities by contacting the crime stop number 08600 10111 or visiting the nearest police station.

All four suspects aged between 24 and 36 will appear soon in different magistrate’s courts.
