Rand Aid honour long term employees

SANDRINGHAM – The Rand Aid Association awarded their longest serving employees on 23 August.

The Rand Aid Association hosted their 13th annual long service awards to celebrate some of their committed employees on 23 August.

Spokesperson for the organisation Cathy Grosvenor said, “At this year’s awards, 32 staff members were recognised for a combined 305 years of service, ranging from five years to 10, 15, 20 and 25 years.”

The main staff member honoured was Elphin Lodge Complex manager, Helen Petrie who has worked at Rand Aid for 25 years. Petrie joined as an accounts administration clerk at Elphin Lodge in 1993 and worked her way up to manager in 2006, a position she still serves today.

CEO of the Rand Aid Association Rae Brown said, “Helen has numerous excellent qualities that make her a most valued staff member and colleague. She is committed, dedicated, loyal and responsible. Moreover, she loves the residents of Elphin Lodge and will go out of her way to improve their well-being. Her heart is in the right place.”

Other recipients included Ron Smith Care Centre nurses Dorah Moalusi and Mary Steenveldt who have both served the organisation for 15 years, Tarentaal Village manager Tammy Nielson who has worked there for 15 years and Tarentaal receptionist Shelly Joy who has worked there for 20 years. Wedge Gardens manager Adel Grobbelaar was also honoured for her 20 years of service to the Rand Aid association.

Brown added, “I thank each staff member for the devoted service they give to Rand Aid and its residents.”

The awards were presented by John Robinson, the chairman of the Rand Aid board.
