Moboea is expected to sing and act in front of renowned producers and directors in the arts industry. She told North Eastern Tribune that she hopes this will help her fulfil her dream of becoming an international artist. “This is a platform for me to showcase my talent and I’m very excited and I hope this becomes a dream come true for me to fulfil my aspirations and my career.”

According to Maboea, this all started last year June when she enrolled for auditions at the Just-U Agency in Illovo. She said she had to go through extensive auditions for a year and finally a boot camp where she was trained in the specific category she wanted to enter in the contest in America. “I will be showcasing in the dramatic and comedic monologues which are the two categories I’ve auditioned and trained for as a singer and actor.”

She said that during the auditions, which were held in Pretoria, she had the opportunity to work with the casting producer of Arts International, Kim Meyers, as well as the casting director of Tyler Perry Studios, Rhavynn Drummer who flew in from America to watch the auditions.

Maboea said if she makes it to the top, she might get an opportunity to be in an international movie or a show in America. “It’s incredible and humbling to know I’ll now be showcasing in front of casting directors from New York, Los Angeles and Europe.

“I’m extremely excited and nervous to go to the Arts International and I’ve grown so much from this experience and audition process.”

Maboea said she has become more firm in her craft and herself as an individual and added that she feels empowered and knows she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to.
