Children celebrate Easter festivities significantly in Orange Grove

ORANGE GROVE – The aim was to share God's love with the children during the Easter festivities.

As part of the annual Easter festivities, children from Adorable Kids Pre-School celebrated their holiday significantly with Easter egg hunting at their facility in Orange Grove.

The event was organised by a local resident, Miah Kinleh, as part of her AMKF Miah Foundation’s social responsibility programme.

About 54 children from the school were treated to free Easter eggs which were donated by the foundation.

According to Minleh, this is the most significant way of celebrating these holidays with children.

She said the idea was to spend part of the day with children enjoying the fun of the festivity mostly associated with Christianity.

Minleh placed two Easter eggs each in their different, hidden spots and children had to hunt for themselves.

“We’re very excited that the children enjoyed themselves.

“The aim was to share God’s love with the children during the Easter festivities,” said Minleh.

Flavian Crawford, principal of the school, said they are grateful to the foundation for choosing their school to celebrate this occasion with their children.

“What is significant about this is that we normally celebrate it the same way every year.

“We normally hide the eggs and let children hunt for them and whoever finds his two eggs takes them, she said.

We also tell them a story about the history of Easter bunnies and how it actually came to be celebrated, added Crawford.

She said parents at the school also brought about 800 Easter eggs and they were donated to the Observatory Children’s Home.

Meanwhile, Minleh hosted another East egg hunt with 300 other children from local area adding that they induced the story of Jesus Christ.

“The kids were thrilled and it was just a tremendous fun for the children.

“This was a heart-warming session as it included prayers and Bible verses as part of our Christian teachings,” she said.

She concluded that the event was a success and they are looking forward to growth and another great one next year.
