The Yeoville Police successfully arrested 49 suspects for various crimes between 5 and 13 March.
Spokesperson for the station, Captain Sifiso Mabizela said, “The suspects have appeared before the court, while others have paid bail or fines and others still remain in police custody for further investigation.”
The following arrests were made:
- 1 for attempted murder
- 2 for housebreaking and theft
- 2 for robbery
- 4 for common robbery
- 1 for the possession of a dangerous weapon
- 7 for assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm
- 4 for driving under the influence of liquor or drugs
- 3 for shoplifting
- 7 for possession of marijuana
- 8 for the possession of suspected stolen property
- 1 for illegal gambling
- 1for malicious damage to property
- 1 for crimen injuria.
Mabizela said, “Yeoville police are committed to rooting out corruption and cleaning the streets of our precincts.”
