Eden Prep pupil gives back

LYNDHURST – Eden Preparatory School expresses pride in pupil Sidaan Manilall, who is helping Impilo Orphanage.

Eden Preparatory School in Lyndhurst is celebrating a seven-year-old at their school for his ongoing work and support for Impilo Orphanage in Glenhazel.

Spokesperson and teacher for the school, Lee-Anne Bayer said that Sidaan Manilall has plunged in to help with the school’s latest outreach programme dealing with abandoned babies and toddlers with Impilo. “Sidaan, learning about the outreach programme, asked the right questions – the most important of which, for a child of his age, was particularly telling, ‘Where are the babies’ mothers’?”

The answer, and an explanation about orphanages, galvanised the boy, who decided to make a difference in the lives of these abandoned babies in the best way he could.

His first action was to seek counsel from his grandfather as to how best to raise funds for Impilo. “Since then, Sidaan has been collecting clothes, toys and money for these abandoned babies and toddlers. We’re beyond proud of Sidaan’s kindness, care and involvement in making such a huge, meaningful effort,” added Bayer.
