The association has been registered as a non-profit organisation for over a century and has established retirement homes in the Lyndhurst and Modderfontein areas. It is governed by an independent non-executive board of management, consisting of persons from the community. “We are fortunate to attract individuals with great expertise and a high level of integrity, overseeing and guiding our full-time staff in their daily operations,” said Rae.

Clucas co-founded ClucasGrey in 2005 in order to give clients individual attention. “Whilst I have been a type of watchdog at Rand Aid, I really enjoyed the challenge of establishing two new retirement villages – Thornhill and Inyoni. The management of Rand Aid is, in my opinion, highly professional and its future is in extremely good hands.

“I will continue to look after a lot of my older clients at ClucasGray, being stimulated by the thought processes of my younger colleagues.” ClucasGray, an investment management boutique offers portfolio management services and currently watches over investments worth more than R8 billion.
Rand Aid board members expressed their wholehearted appreciation at Clucas’ last board meeting on 14 December.
