St Mary’s matrics are awesome

WAVERLEY - Head of St Mary's School in Waverley, Deanne King congratulated all the school's matrics for their exceptional results.

King said, “This year’s results show the range, abilities and talents of your remarkable group. Your class has achieved a 100 per cent Bachelor Degree pass which is an indication of the work ethic and endeavour that is so much a part of our school’s tradition.

“St Mary’s subject averages attest to, not only the excellence of your group but also the depth of ability within your class. The school celebrates your 351 distinctions.”

Additionally, the school had four girls who earned the IEB Commendable Achievement award with results within the top 5 per cent of matrics in five subjects.

 

The school’s top achiever was Julia Huysamer who obtained an impressive nine distinctions while placing in the top 1 per cent among all IEB pupils in English, Afrikaans and visuals arts.

Matrics who earned eight distinctions were Simone Batchelor (including a spot in the top 1 per cent in Afrikaans) Christine Hill, Sophia Mayet (top 1 per cent in life sciences), Courtney Mocke and Cheyenne Padiyachy (both in the top 1 per cent in English) and Genevieve Shahim.

With seven distinctions were Megan de Lange, Jenna Duffy, Georgina Kieser, Liezl Kritzinger, Ntshembho Mtsetwene, Caitlyn Nielsen, Natasha Rajak, Frances van der Walt and Francesca Vercellotti.
