Motor theft on the rise, stay alert

SANDRINGHAM – Sandringham police urge residents not to fall victim to motor vehicle theft.

Sandringham police have called on the Sector 1 community to remain vigilant following a number of motor vehicle thefts in Raedene Estate and Sandringham.

Spokesperson for the Sandringham Police Station, Captain Mohlaumi Mamabolo said three motor vehicles were stolen – an Opel Corsa, a Toyota Camry and a Nissan 1400 – between 21 and 26 November. Mamabolo added that these thefts occurred between 12pm and 2pm with two incidences in Raedene Estate and one in Sandringham where old model cars without immobilisers were parked on the street.

Mamabolo warned residents and individuals working in the area not to park their cars on the street. “Please be aware of your surroundings and where you park your vehicles. If you hear anything suspicious call the police immediately.”
