ADT supports Bramley
BRAMLEY – ADT clarifies its position and service in Bramley after concerned residents contacted them
Information regarding ADT security leaving the Bramley area has caused confusion to residents. The initial information for this report was obtained from the Bramley Security Initiative chairperson Di Binns and has since been retracted.
ADT has responded to the story on the North Eastern Tribune website. ADT said that community security is understandably an emotive issue as it involves people’s lives and families, and ADT Security would like to reassure Bramley residents that they will continue to support residents in Bramley.
Johannesburg district manager for ADT, Ranesh Ranjith said, “There appears to be some confusion regarding the retraction of our dedicated BSI vehicle at the end of the month. This vehicle was never for the whole of Bramley, it only serviced 66 homeowners in the area and was not allowed to respond outside the BSI area. This arrangement was not financially feasible and ADT has now rezoned the area so all residents can benefit.”
As of 1 April, the Bramley Security Initiative (BSI) vehicle will be converted to a standard response vehicle for the whole area and will operate in addition to the existing Bramley area vehicle which patrols seven days a week in Bramley. Both these vehicles will be supported by other patrol cars in neighbouring suburbs and provide a much stronger support network for all residents.
All other ADT Security services that were in the community will remain unaffected. “Since 2009 we have [had] an excellent track record in the community and there has been very little crime. We do not foresee any spikes or increases as predicted by the BSI, as it is simply a redeployment of resources. The cars will uplift both visibility and service in the broader Bramley area,” said Ranjith.
“We have been in close consultation with BSI over the last two years regarding the shortfall in member contributions and were surprised to hear about the scheduled meeting last week with a competitor. This was not discussed with ADT and we have received a lot of concerned calls from many of our existing customers as a result of the misleading communication,” added Ranjith.
