The march started at Norwood Park and moved on to Norwood Police Station.
Secretary of the ANC in Ward 73 John Mkadimeng Branch, Stanley Letsoalo said, “The purpose of the march was to send out a clear message to the broader community that we have to unite behind stopping crime, women and child abuse, police killings and drugs.”
He added that the anti-crime march was organised by the ANC Ward 73 John Nkadimeng Branch.
“Thank you to those who attended,” he said.
“The weather was not in our favour, but we still had a good turnout.”
Sergeant Nurse Sanyane of Norwood police said, “Thank you to those who support us in our efforts to protect the community. We appreciate the initiative as we are all affected by crime.”
