King David’s Big Walk and Night Run attracts 2 000 participants

JOBURG - On an unusually chilly Sunday in September, King David Schools, Johannesburg, hosted a 5km King David Big Walk and the first-ever King David Night Run.

Over 2 000 people, including pupils, parents, grandparents and staff, participated in the King David Big Walk and Run. The run aims to unite all the King David Schools in a fun and healthy way, encouraging unity and cohesiveness between the various campuses.

This year, the family walk was followed by a King David Night Run where more than 400 high school pupils were kitted out in lumo bandannas and ran for a cause.

The participants of the night run were encouraged to pre-select worthy charities or organisations to which all money raised from the night would be donated.

The 5km walk and run began at King David Sandton and continued through the suburbs of Woodmead Springs.
