Sappers Haven celebrates summer

Grandchildren played around the stalls and enjoyed the edible wares, while older community members chatted over a snack or browsed the stalls.

This year’s fete featured stalls offering a wide variety of wares from knick-knacks and paintings to baked goods and perfumes. At the Familia Pinto stall, relatives of one Sappers Haven resident sold home made cheeses, sauces and james, while feel-good music and a sizzling braai added to the festive atmosphere.

Held annually, the fete calls on the involvement of families and locals to raise money for the retirement village’s Christmas party and other functions.
