Excitement as competition draws to an end

With less than a month to go before the announcement of the winners of the ORT JET’s Eureka Launch your Business Competition, the excitement is palpable.

Eleven finalists out of 78 entrants attended a full-day business boot camp to fine-tune their final pitches to the panel of judges at the Liberty Executive Boardroom.

One of the finalists, Jodi Eberlin representing Self Portrait, spoke about the competition. “Journeying with Eureka and ORT JET has been energising, enlightening, educational, and totally exhilarating,” she said. “Although there is still so much to learn, I celebrate where I am today, and thank ORT for the opportunity.”

The judging panel included successful business entrepreneurs, Paul Bacher, Rowan Swartz, Eldon Beinart and Lara Rosmarin, and in the pitching panel were Donna Rachelson, Jeff Miller, Steven Braudo and Steven Kark.

The winners of the competition and the Business of the Year and Mentor of the Year awards will be announced at the Eureka Awards Dinner scheduled to take place on 28 August.
