Visible policing by Norwood police lead to arrest of a man allegedly in possession of a stolen car earlier today.

Visible policing by Norwood police lead to the arrest of a man in possession of a stolen car on 6 August.

According to police the car was reported stolen in Jabulani earlier this month. Norwood police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane said the police were conducting their routine stop and search patrol when they stopped the car at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 12th Street in Orange Grove. Tsoanyane said, “When the police searched the car they found that the front door locks and the ignition were damaged. When they tested the car, it tested positive as a stolen car with a Jabulani case this August.”

Tsoanyane said the police arrested a 28-year-old man who lives in Orange Grove. The man was also found in possession of two cellphones, a screw driver and wheel spanner which were found inside the vehicle. He was expected to appear at the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court.
