Saheti to host annual rugby sevens festival

SENDERWOOD - Saheti School will on 1 March host its Annual Rugby Sevens and Netball Festival.

The event, which is the first major challenge on the school’s winter sports calendar, will kick off at 8am and end at 3pm.

The festival will feature 24 rugby teams and 27 netball teams representing 17 schools, in the U/16 and U/19 age groups.

Schools from across Gauteng will be represented.

Allen Glen, Christ Church College, De La Salle Holy Cross, Dominican Convent, Edenglen High, Elsburg High, Highlands North, Jabulani High, Krugersdorp High, Malvern Community A Team, Mondeor High, Queens High, Reddam House, Redhill, St Peter’s College, Wendywood High and SAHETI will be participating.

The open teams will be competing for four trophies; championship, shield, bowl and plate, while the U/16s will play for the championship, shield and plate trophies.

Alumni rugby and netball matches have also been scheduled to take place and will be the highlight of the programme.
