Police investigate house robbery

Norwood police are investigating a house robbery case where an Orange Groove homeowner was assaulted and robbed off valuable items.

According police spokesperson Constable Nonzwakazi Tsoanyane, police officers responding to a call found the victim bleeding, “He had blood and had sustained injuries to his head, an ambulance was called which immediately took him to hospital,” she said.

Tsoanyane said the suspect struck the man with an unidentified object.

The suspect allegedly took a laptop and two cellphones, “The total value of the stolen items is R19 000,” she said.

It is unclear how the suspect gained access to the property in 8th street.

“The suspect is still at large and we are investigating the case,” said Tsoanyane.

She appealed to members of the public who may have information that could lead to an arrest to come forward.
