Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the girl was on her way home from the shop when she was allegedly approached by the man on the corner of Beatrice and Van der Merwe streets. He forced her to accompany him to his flat on Banarto Street.
Zondo said the suspect allegedly ordered the girl to keep quiet when they arrived at his flat or else he would stab her. Police believed that the man was in the Hillbrow area or Kwazulu-Natal. He added that the suspect used to drive a taxi between Berea and Alexandra. He appealed to the public to contact the police with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
