Murder and armed robbery suspect nabbed

The man was walking carrying a plastic bag in the corner of Kotze and Quartz Streets, said the police. Police spokesperson Constable Mduduzi Zondo said the man crossed the road when he saw the police who then had to follow him. Zondo said they stopped and searched the suspect. “After we searched him and his plastic bag, we found an unlicensed 9mm pistol loaded with live ammunition.”

Zondo said they arrested the suspect and took him to the police station. He said when they got to the police station they saw his photo which was retrieved from CCTV footage in connection with armed robbery and murder that took place in October last year. The 29-year-old suspect was expected to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon.
