Yeshiva girls raise funds for battered women

SANDRINGHAM - Yeshiva College Girls High School organised a successful fundraiser to raise money for the Gina Fromer Shelter for Battered Women in Jerusalem, managed by Wizo in Israel.

Prizes to pamper lucky recipients were collected for the raffle, which was run by the chesed committee: Michal Lew, Dina Rabson, Dani Waxman and Pnina Herring. The committee rose to the occasion and sold many tickets, raising much-needed funds to pamper the women at the shelter.

The draw for the lucky winners took place at the school. Jess Schneider won the prize for a pamper party for her and four friends, so she decided to reward the committee by taking them with her.

Dean of the school, Rabbi Ra’anan said, “I’m thrilled that our partnering with Wizo is leading to such positive outcomes and I hope the partnership will only grow from strength to strength.”
