LaSauce introduces a brand-new sound

JOBURG – LaSauce's summer ballad is indicative of the new sound that she has been working on and does not only aim to attract every sort of listener – from the young to the old – but establish the young songstress as a relatable and solid performer.

Singer and songwriter, LaSauce has introduced the world to her brand-new sound through her latest release, Emafini. The track is slightly different from what the singer offered on her debut album, Broken Lipstick, but she is still the love-filled 21-year-old that she has come to be known as.

The single is about the true and meaningful love that conquers against all odds. The singer said the single is for everyone, young and old and speaks to all the people who are capable to love.

“When you find your first love, your head is usually on cloud nine and you’re excited – love makes you go crazy. It’s my take on black young love,” LaSauce said.

Produced by Blaq Diamond’s Ndu Browns and released by Ambitiouz Entertainment, the single is accompanied by a music video that translates the lyrics to life. The video narrates a story of two young people who are madly in love and will stop at nothing to be together.

“With the music video, it’s a story that I feel like a lot of people can relate to because it’s something that happens in a lot of rural areas where parents become concerned with our first love,” she said.

“For me, it’s always about representation especially with my sound. Even with my previous album, Broken Lipstick, there was a lot of different sounds and right now I just wanted to create a solid sound – a mature and relatable sound. With my music I always want to tell a story and that’s the whole point with my music.”

At only 21 years old, LaSauce’s musical growth has come at a time where local artists are pit against the best on the globe and put in a position to put out quality music and performances and redefining the local contemporary music scene.

“I’ve grown a lot and I remember with my first project I was still trying to find myself but as time went by I just grew in many aspects and for me it just keeps on getting better. I think the more confident I am in my music, be it on the stage performing or in the studio, I feel like it makes it so much better.”
