Ntsiki Mazwai and Skroofman take a stand against abuse in new single

JOBURG – The two artists have also founded #KhulumaGalAgainstRape, an initiative that will see them tour schools and communities around the country raising awareness.

Ntsiki Mazwai has teamed up with Mpumalanga artist Skroofman to speak out about rape in a new song titled Impilo. The single comes in the midst of the #MeToo campaign that saw millions of people across the world take a stand against rape and gender-based violence.

The single encourages women to speak out against abuse and expose the perpetrators. Mazwai’s poetry in the song speaks about seeing the light despite the darkness. It is a call to all victims and survivors to choose life.

“It is important for women to be able to have a platform to speak about their experiences. It pains me as a man to see my sisters suffer like this. I decided to make this song and invite Ntsiki Mazwai to feature because I knew her voice stands for so many women,” said Skroofman.

The new single has already been play listed on various key national radio stations throughout the country and is already number one on Ligwalagwala FM.  The two artists have also founded #KhulumaGalAgainstRape, an initiative that will see them tour schools and communities around the country raising awareness.
