Don’t miss: What to do this weekend

JOBURG – Top five things to do in Joburg this weekend.

We’ve reached the end of March’s final week and it’s time to kick off our shoes,  relax and have fun at these amazing events this weekend before we get the new month started with a bang

Check out our top five things to do this weekend:

29 March: The Sleeping Beauty

International guest artists Anaïs Chalendard and Florimond Lorieux will dance the leading roles in three performances of Joburg Ballet’s new staging of The Sleeping Beauty during the upcoming season, running from 29 March–7 April. The 10-performance run is made possible by a grant of over R1 460 000 from the National Lotteries Commission and will see three performances accompanied by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra. Tickets are available on www.webtickets.co.za from R200–R475.

30 March: The Grand White Dinner

The Grand White Dinner is kicking off its 2019 season with a bang and is definitely not one to miss out on. The prestigious annual event is South Africa’s leading lifestyle pop-up picnic event. Since its establishment in 2014, the purpose of the event was to bring people together – with a simple request that all the guests dress all in white with a touch of gold. This year, the Grand White Dinner has created a platform for potential models and designers to grace the runway at the Grand Fashion Show with the aim to promote local designers and encourage people to wear and buy local design. Tickets can be purchased online via Howler. Each ticket includes a free bottle of Haute Cabriére Chardonnay Pinot Noir 2017.

30 March: Night of 1 000 Drawings

Roll up and get your tickets for South Africa’s biggest, one-night-only, inner-city art exhibition and sale to raise funds for child education. At R150 per artwork, you could get your hands on a one-of-a-kind, original work by future big stars, or something beautiful to make you smile. There will be food, drinks and amazing entertainment as well as loads of cool spaces and galleries to check out at the amazing venue! Bring your kiddies too – everyone is welcome at Victoria Yards. Tickets available for R100 www.webtickets.co.za

31 March: Select Sundays in The Living Room

Select Sundays in The Living Room is an event that brings aural quality and progression to Living Room, by inviting South Africa’s finest, and most talented artists to a day on the decks with our resident Treepian. A carefully curated musical journey will ensure a world-class day of house music for you to experience and enjoy inside our rooftop oasis. Tickets available R80–R100 at the door.

31 March: Sunday Schools
