Sjava reaches another milestone with Umama

The official music video for Umama from Sjava’s latest offering Umqhele, has reached an impressive one million views on YouTube in just 14 days.
The single is an ode to his mother and is an incredibly emotive song, on par with the music video. Viewers are given a closer look at the bond he shares with his mother, community and his spirituality as Sjava opens the doors of his home in Bergeville, KZN where he grew up.
The video reaching a million views in such a short space of time comes as no surprise because it reveals another layer to the multifaceted BET award-winning artist. The emotive video brings forth an almost tangible level of realness and authenticity of his roots as a proud African man which is bound to resonate with the general public.
The video was released on 1 March and immediately shot to the number three spot on the trending YouTube videos and now it is on number 19 with over 1 600 comments.
