Printing SA graduates go for gold

JOBURG – SA printing industry assists students’ growth.

Steve Thobela, CEO of Printing SA’s industry body said the South African printing industry was constantly at work in assisting development and growth in the print industry.

Speaking at the Cape Chamber graduation ceremony of Printing SA’s technical theoretical module 3 (TT3) on Tuesday, 16 October, Thobela said that at a time when unemployment was rife, empowering South Africans to have the necessary skills rather than stand by helplessly having them wait for jobs to materialise, was imperative. Skills development is a necessity to achieve growth within the print industry.

The TT3 course topic included the following subjects: Lithography, bindery, envelope and stationary machine and flexography.

A total of 10 students passed the course with all achieving above-average marks. TT3 is the final theory module apprentices do before completing their final trade test to qualify them for their particular chosen trades, that of either lithography or flexography print, among a host of others.
