JOBURG – Childish Gambino’s latest video takes a poke a popular culture.
Following the release of his critically acclaimed This is America music video, American musician, writer, actor, and director Donald Glover has released the visuals for his latest single, Feels Like Summer.
For the past week the Donald Glover, Ivan Dixon and Greg Sharp-directed video provides some sort of commentary on pop culture’s recent happenings in the form of cartoon characters designed by Justin Richburg.

Throughout the duration of the video, we follow Childish Gambino as he walks down the street on a cool summer’s day and runs into famous faces going on about their daily mundane activities. There have been a number of interpretations surrounding the video and its poke at popular culture, some standout analyses include Nicki Minaj’s feud with Travis Scott, Kanye West’s support of Donald Trump as well as the disconnection between hip-hop older and newer generation.
Despite the video’s supposed many hidden meanings, it remains a nostalgic piece to marvel at.
